Komunikace s Indií

Koordinátor sekce: Honza Z.

Editoři: Eva, Matůš, Katka, Michal, Alena

Smysl sekce: Zajistit dostatek pracovních příležitostí

Co je potřeba udělat:

  • Kontaktovat mnichy v Hemisu a Gotsangu (Honza, brzy)
  • Napst dopis nebo zavolat Mr. Phunetok - sekretář All Ladakh Gompa Assoc. (Honza, brzy)

Dear Reverend Gergan,
following your correspondence with Robert Meixner in year 2007 I have
the pleasure to inform you that the development cooperation project
"Krajni meze" can be continued. There is a group of Czech volunteers
willing to visit Leh in July and August and offer your students a
one-week education program.

Last year we prepared a course focused on environmental awareness. We
concluded that the next course should be even more practical -
traditional music, art, craft or theatre could be the areas of
interest. Do we still agree on this?

Additionally, we could offer a training in information technology. As
far as I can remember, there was no computer lab available to your
students last year. Is this still the case?

Would you be interested in cooperating with us this year?

With kind regards
Jan Zemen

Dear Mr Zan Zemen,
Great letter from you. We would be interested in cooperating once again with your team this year. Do keep us informed of the ways we could be involved in.
Spring weather is great in Leh and we are going through it these days. School is doing well by the grace of Jesus Christ.
Warmly as I close,
Rev Elijah Gergan

Dear Reverend Gergan,
thank you for the encouraging reply. I am very glad to hear that the
Mission School has been keeping well and that we can look forward to
meeting you and working together once again.

There are two important points that I would like to discuss in this e-mail:

Our team arrives in Leh on the 9th of July so we would be ready to
start the course on Monday 14th. Most of our volunteers depart Leh on
the weekend 9-10th of August.
I do realize that your summer vacation most likely coincides with this
time span to some extent but I hope that we can find one or two weeks
when both the children and the volunteers would be available.

I suggested a general orientation of the courses in my first message
but the subjects should be further specified. We would like to offer
the following courses:
- Czech/Moravian traditional music (children would learn to sing folk
songs and play a simple instruments such as the flute that we could
provide in reasonable amount)
- Czech traditional arts and crafts (children would take part in
workshops such as weavery - comparison with Ladakhi traditional crafts
would be sought)
- Theatre (children would study and stage a play based on Czech (or
Ladakhi) mythology.)
- Information technology (conditioned by the facilities; if there were
no computer lab at the moment, we could try to find sponsors of
lap-top computers)
Please, let us know your preferences and ideas concerning these subjects.

We look forward to your reply.
With warm regards and a wish of our Lord's blessing,
Jan Zemen

Dear Mr Jan Zemen,
I have your letter of 8th April. Thank you for the various offers of participation with our children. We would be on vacatin till the third week of July, i.e.23 July 2008. As such we would be able to work with your team on or after 23 July till the period of your stay in Ladakh. Yes the most important part would be the IT sector where your suggestion of lap tops sponsored by Czech beneficiaries for the school would go a long way in promoting this lack in our education. If one of the team members could stay for a longer period than just the summer period, it will be a great contribution; he/she could teach children even after school hours. If you have any good literature or CDs/videos on bio-diversity, that will also be welcome as we have a DNA Club promoting the study of Ladakh's natural bio-diversity.
Other suggestions of yours are welcome and I am sure that we could work out the time, mostly before/after school hours but also during school hours.
Good wishes as I close,
Very sincerely,
Rev Elijah Gergan

Dear Reverend Gergan,
it is very encouraging for us to hear that you are interested in the
course focused on IT, however, I would like to caution that we start
addressing the beneficiaries in Czech Republic now and the outcome of
such process is naturally beyond our direct influence. I will keep you
informed about the progress.

It would be helpful if you sent us some basic facts about your school
- number of children, curriculum, brief history overview... Anything
that could be interesting to the potential donors.

I hope that the other courses, where our offer is not conditioned by
external factors, also sound appealing to you. For example the drama
course would have the side effect of producing nice presentation of
your school that could be used in promoting the project in Czech
Republic if we wanted to sustain it in the years to come.

Greetings from Prague,
Jan Zemen
